The Oxford Brookes Global MBA is an accredited MBA which develops your personal and professional expertise. You'll apply what you learn throughout your MBA as you focus on your current role and performance and how to further develop your future career.
It’s a highly flexible part-time MBA and you can choose to study online (with some compulsory face-to-face study)* or mostly on-campus in Oxford, or through a blend of both.
The MBA induction helps you understand the rigours of MBA study and to acquire the key MBA study skills needed to succeed. From the start we'll teach you how to critically analyse real-world cases and the fundamentals of virtual collaboration and teamwork.
We'll encourage you to assess your career up to this point with an honest self-audit. With our support we will help you think about what you expect to get out of the MBA, and what you are able to put in.
With Oxford Brookes Global MBA you can start in March or September and complete the MBA programme in two and a half years. ACCA members can receive credit for modules, so ACCA MBA students can complete a fast track MBA programme in as fast as 24 months.
The MBA syllabus has a wide range of core compulsory MBA modules, covering all key aspects of business administration and management.
While you study MBA subjects separately, you learn how they link up in practice through engaging case studies and ‘Leadership challenges’. During the Critical Approaches to Business module we also teach the critical thinking and research skills essential for your MBA studies and final project.
After the core compulsory modules, you choose two MBA electives modules and, for the final stage of your MBA programme, you choose an MBA project. This can be a dissertation, an individual consultancy project, a group consultancy project or a business start-up plan. Through the final project you connect the knowledge and expertise you have gained throughout the MBA by exploring an interest in depth.
Throughout your MBA studies we focus on your career development. During the Personal and Professional Development module you develop a personal and professional development journal which results in an assessed action plan for your career.
Wherever you’re based in the world, we’ll make your MBA study experience highly personal and supportive, and while getting an MBA you will develop strong collaborative relationships with our MBA community of fellow students, alumni and academic tutors.
*Face-to-face time will consist of two three-day residential hotel-based workshops and one six-day on-campus module in Oxford. These are available at various times throughout the two-year period. You can choose to take these 12 days in a row, or bite-sized blocks of three and six days.
Accreditation by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) is widely recognised as the global standard for MBA programmes.
AMBA accreditation means that our MBA programme has been assessed and approved against the following criteria:
The institution shall have a clear sense of mission, a well-identified target population and a developed sense of the market for its programmes
The faculty should be of a requisite size and appropriately positioned to fully resource the activities of the school; it should be credible in terms of academic qualifications, ability to teach at postgraduate level, quality of research, and the extent of business contacts and consultancy activities
Evidence is required to illustrate rigour in standards for admission, which must include work experience as well as academic criteria
The curriculum should be generalist in nature and must cover core business skills
All elements of the course shall be formally assessed
In addition, factors such as the availability of language teaching, library and computer facilities and international contacts
All our students become AMBA members. This membership provides a suite of careers, networking and knowledge services, linking together students and alumni from other AMBA-accredited business schools. Graduating from our programme does not mean ceasing to become a member; the individual AMBA membership continues in perpetuity for Oxford Brookes Global MBA alumni.
The MBA programme is ranked amongst the top 100 MBA programmes in the world featuring in The Economist 'Which MBA?' top 100 2019 global ranking, and achieved Tier 1 Status in CEO Magazine’s 2020 Global MBA Rankings.
This unique Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA is the only masters-level qualification in the world to be delivered through an exclusive partnership with British Horseracing Authority, the Horserace Betting Levy Board and The Racing Foundation.
The programme combines the Management School’s expertise in sports industry management, with the specialist equine knowledge of the University’s School of Veterinary Science. As an MBA programme it has the real business focus that management positions in modern horseracing demand. This is based on links with key sectors of the industry — from racecourses, horseracing governance and administration, trainers, owners and breeders, to the gambling industry and the media.
The programme supports both those working in the horse racing and associated industries, and prospective career-changers, to develop their management and leadership skills. It is delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online teaching, which allows participants to remain in full-time employment.
The core elements of the programme—leadership, strategy, organisations, marketing and managing financial resources—are delivered online.
The specialist modules apply business concepts to modern horseracing. You’ll gain a critical awareness of issues in the management of racecourses and training establishments, marketing, advertising, sponsorship, bloodstock management and relevant veterinary issues. These will be delivered in concentrated blocks in Liverpool, London and Newmarket.
Practical learning opportunities include visits to racecourses, studs, training facilities and media companies. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on real projects for sponsoring organisations through work based projects.

Our 21-month Weekend MBA allows you to accelerate and develop your career, balancing studying at Imperial in London in your spare time with a demanding job. This enables you to study in London without the need to relocate, providing access to a global business hub.
The programme allows you to develop a strong international network of ambitious students and graduates, leading faculty members and business practitioners.
This programme is taught on weekends once a month from April to January (Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning). Completing this MBA will require you to take 32 – 46 days out of the office in a 21 month period, depending on the electives chosen.
The first year of the programme focuses on core modules, which cover the foundations for business success. There is a careful balance of teaching and learning, individual work and group work. There are also regular seminars by expert external speakers.
In the second year, you tailor your MBA and choose optional modules which cover all of the key management and business disciplines as well as a final project. With our flexible modules, you can choose to study electives on campus at Imperial, or online through our unique, high engagement learning platforms. The Global Experience Week in your second year is an intensive exploration of a country’s business practices and challenges using company visits to learn through practical case studies.
There is also an opportunity to participate in The Entrepreneurial Journey in place of one elective module. This is a live entrepreneurial project that provides insights into the challenges of introducing products and services to market.
