    Course Description

The University of Greenwich has a long history of management education. The International Business MBA draws on decades of professional experience.

Our London-based MBA in International Business is an internationally recognised master's degree in business administration and management. We focus on developing your knowledge in business strategy and change management.

If you do not have a first degree in business, our MBA will give you a solid grounding in business management, followed by international business courses, projects and a guided internship. Our degree allows you to follow your own professional interests. As part of the course, you must secure an internship with a company of your choice (UK or overseas), driving you to apply your knowledge and gain practical experience.

What you should know about this course

    • You can begin in September.
    • Our MBA combines business management theory with a one-year internship, helping to meet employers’ needs.
    • Our business, management and marketing courses are ranked in TOP 3 for course variety in London (University Guide 2021)

    About the course team

Welcome to our Master of Business Administration in International Business. Your teaching team includes accomplished lecturers and practitioners with vast experience in international business strategy, management and specialist projects. Our teaching is informed by research and consultancy work.

In a typical week, learning takes place through a combination of lectures and seminars. You'll be able to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller group sessions. Contact hours may fall between 9am and 9pm, depending on your elective courses and tutorials.

The typical student intake per year is up to 220-230. Lectures are normally attended by 120-320, and seminars/tutorials by 15-30, based on the 2018 intake. This varies by module, particularly if they are shared between degrees.

You can also join a range of student societies, including the Economics and Business Society.

    Careers and placements

Will I have a work placement?

The internship will help you to put into practice skills developed in communication, numeracy and problem-solving within a professional context, and to build your sense of business values and integrity. You are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university, pending approval.

The Business School Employability Office will support and guide you through workshops, meetings, briefings, one-to-one appointments and group sessions. Former students have secured internships at Bosch, Harrods, Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG and Starbucks Coffee Company (UK) Limited.

The 11-month internship enables you to apply your knowledge and gain practical experience with a company of your choice, in the UK or overseas.
