Sports Management MBA


Course Description

The sports market is a multibillion dollar industry, experiencing rapid expansion in regions such as China, Russia, Brazil and the Middle East, opening many doors to those with a specialized skill set. This is an interdisciplinary program designed to teach management skills, covering areas such as; sports marketing and management, sports advertising, and media relations. The industry offers diverse and dynamic opportunities to graduates, ranging from professional sports to managing events and corporate sponsorships.

Course structure

The MBA in Sports Management program lasts one year, divided into three terms. Each term students complete five courses, including industrial visits and guest speaker sessions. In order to graduate, students must complete a management research methods module and a dissertation subject in addition to the other courses.

Learning Outcomes

Students gain the knowledge necessary to become successful sports managers, through case study research, industrial visits and routine networking with professional sports industry professionals, in addition to the managerial training they receive in a classroom setting. Students will also:

1. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the overall world of sports management and what it entails.

2. Apply major management principles to the field of sports business.

3. Understand the complexity involved in bidding for and staging major sports events.

4. Apply theory and concepts to real life situations.

Certified copy of bachelor's degree and transcripts and Proof of English level: TOEFL score 89 (internet-based), 233 (computer-based); IELTS 6.5; CAE C1; PTE score 59; English native or equivalent. Applicants must also meet one of the following: A GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; A satisfactory score on the GMAT or GRE; An interview with the academic dean.
