The Master in International Business and Management programme is an18 month full-time postgraduate programme for postgraduate of business-related disciplines. The programme challenges students to apply business management theory to current international business practice. It prepares postgraduate for international management positions by focusing on corporate strategy, marketing, operations, accounting and human resource management, all from an international business perspective. This programme is designed for students with a wide interest in international business and management, who are aiming at a management position. All subjects and modules are placed in an international context. The demands placed upon the manager are subject to increasing changes, which arise from the changes that take place in the international business environment and usually affect all business operations.
The first two semesters contain all the elements you would expect from an international business programme. Courses include, for example, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Management, Intercultural and International Competence, HRM, and Financial Management and Accounting. Next to lectures and workshops, you work both individually and in teams on practice- and experience-based projects and case studies. Within our Living Labs you interact with the world of professional practice through guest lectures, seminars, real-life consultancy projects and company visits. During the second semester you will select a topic and business setting for your master’s thesis that you will write in the third semester. In your thesis you will research a real question for a real client from a company or organisation.
A business and management master’s programme prepares you for a career in business, which may stretch across any sector and industry. Your career options are therefore varied. Studying business and management enables students to develop a broad understanding of business organisations and provide them with job-specific skills in areas such as markets, customers, finance, operations, communication, information technology and business policy and strategy. All industries need functional managers with a clear understanding of systems, efficiency and operational issues. Business and management students can work in any sector and industry.
