The Executive Education Leadership MBA has been designed to equip experienced education managers with the knowledge and skills required to lead a modern academy or group of academies. The programme will provide you with an understanding of operational and marketing issues that face those who lead and manage academies. Graduates will obtain an MBA Executive Education Leadership award. In addition, successful completion of the apprenticeship will require the apprentice to pass an ‘end point assessment’ (EPA) which ensures their suitability and competency for the role.
The degree apprenticeship route will allow you to work and study for your degree at the same time meaning you will have a minimum of three years work experience upon graduation. Your employer and/or the government will pay your tuition fees for your apprenticeship programme and you will be earning a salary at the same time.
There are two distinct components to the degree apprenticeship – the academic degree programme and the work-based assessment. The University – as lead provider – is responsible for delivering the degree programme. The employer is responsible for delivering the work-based assessment components. The university and employer work closely with each other to:
The programme is relevant for those who have a minimum of three years’ experience of management within an academy, school or education organisation. If you are ambitious, creative, competitive and determined, yet realise the need for collaboration, consensus building and compromise, our MBA is for you.

Our teaching combines academic expertise with real-world experience so that your learning is practical, relevant and industry-focused. The programme is delivered by academics who are experts in their field but who also have worked in – and maintain strong links with – industry. You will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars and tutorials, supplemented by a range of learning activities such as industry visits and guest speakers.
The assessment for the modules involves both formative and summative elements. Normally, a module consists of two pieces of summative assessment. Formative assessments, including class discussions, presentation, report writing, with feedback will be provided which will enable you to develop their knowledge and understanding of materials covered in each module.
You will need to take an End Point Assessment (EPA) upon completion of the degree programme. This will consist of two distinct assessment methods; a project showcase based on a work-based project (including report, presentation and questioning) and a professional discussion based on review of portfolio.
