At Nottingham Business School we are proud to have developed an innovative and rigorous part-time Executive Master in Business Administration, rich in real-world experiences, international perspectives and opportunities to personalise your learning around your ambitions.

The Executive MBA (EMBA) is considered the passport to a successful senior leadership career for practising managers. The EMBA is a partnership – you bring the experience, enthusiasm and know-how, and we give you the most-up-to-date knowledge, tools and techniques. This allows you to become impactful organisational leaders, who demonstrate a clarity of thinking, and a set of convictions underpinned by the principles of responsibility and sustainability.

Our innovative, intensive courses prepare you for a wide range of challenges inherent in managing organisations, enabling you to see the interconnections of your actions. Whichever you choose, you will acquire the knowledge you need to work effectively at a senior, strategic management level, empowering organisations to achieve their objectives.

The ability to personalise learning and to apply it directly to your organisation puts you at the heart of our learning model and ensures both you and your organisation benefit directly from your studies.

The EMBA is accredited by the Chartered Management Institution (CMI), upon completion you will also receive a Level 7 CMI qualification.

Nottingham Business School is accredited by EQUIS and AACSB, which are internationally recognised hallmarks of excellence and quality for business education.

    How you’re taught

    How will I learn?

This is a modular part-time programme, designed to maximise the impact of time away from your organisation whilst allowing you to schedule your time in a way that is as effective as possible.

The programme incorporates a mix of classroom modules, independent supported learning and work-based consultancy projects. It includes an international study visit and action learning group meetings.

You'll also use our virtual learning environment, NOW, which is a flexible web-based system that gives you 24-hour access to module learning materials and reading lists. It allows you to discuss work with tutors and submit coursework electronically from anywhere in the world.

    How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a range of assignments, applied projects and presentations and examinations.

It is the application of the knowledge you have acquired during the course that will enable you to think strategically and bring about change within your organisation.

Who is the EMBA aimed at?

    • High-performing managers with broad-level aspirations
    • Healthcare and public sector managers working in complex political and government organisations
    • Entrepreneurs who want to understand the ways to grow a business
    • Successful leaders who need formal and qualifications to underpin their vast experience

    Careers and employability

"Nottingham Business School's EMBA stood apart, as it gave me the opportunity to join a cohort of professionals from across various industries and sectors, and study the theory and practice of broad, business-focused syllabus, both in the UK and internationally.

From start to finish the course structure was clear and defined, and crucially helped me to manage and balance academic study, work schedules, and my personal life. From the outset of my studies and beyond, I found myself applying course learning in my day to day work and personal life with tangible positive effect."

James Sheldon, Sales Director National Sales UK&I at Experian.
